Allithwaite wanderings
It was a gloriously frosty day and the crunch of ice underfoot meant we walked slowly and carefully.
We took a circular route from Boarbank through the wood to Locker Lane, along Templand Gate to Cartmel Road, then down the hill to The Lantern. There we joined in singing carols whilst we sipped our warm hot chocolate and some of us had cake.
Wandering slowly back to Boarbank through the community orchard we looked at the different fruit trees (Steve counted over 100) and the bee hives at the top.
We caught sight of fieldfares, about 40 curlews in a field and dunnock on a roof top.
My photo's including a great team picture are here and yes, Sanjive is holding a green pepper!
