Boarbank Growing Space

Present: Claire, Jeni, Sanjive, Sr Margaret and Steve.

We had a wonderful tour of the Boarbank growing space with Sr Margaret, followed by discussion about communities growing food and growing food communities.

These were my emailed notes after the event:

Thank you so much for your generous time given yesterday for our growing discussion. It feels as though tiny seeds have been scattered to gently rest in places where they can slowly germinate into fabulous ideas. Thank you also to Sr Margaret for hosting and the wonderful tour.

My photos are here.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation soon.

I'll make contact with local growing spaces to see if it's possible to organise some visits - Our Farm (nr Aynsome Manor), Growing Well (Sizergh), Allotment Soup (Walney) and a local home growing space in Flookburgh.

I did a quick calc yesterday of the growing spaces we know about - it all feels so tiny! It's measured on aerial images of the land, so may not be entirely accurate, but pretty close.
